Civil Engineer (2-5 Years Experience)
Our dynamic civil engineering team in Seattle, WA is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Civil Engineer (2-5 Years Experience) to join our growing practice. In this role, you will gain valuable experience working on a variety of challenging and rewarding projects, alongside a team of experienced professionals.
Responsibilities:
Assist senior engineers with project tasks such as site planning, stormwater management, utility coordination, and permitting.
Prepare detailed civil design plans — site layout, grading, drainage, roadways, utility plans, erosion control — using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Build and refine surface models, alignments, corridors, and pipe networks in Civil 3D.
Perform stormwater analysis using MGSFlood, WWHM, or similar modeling software; contribute to stormwater reports and calculations for detention, conveyance, and water-quality treatment systems.
Review and interpret surveys, geotechnical data, and existing plan sets; prepare markups and coordinate with drafters and project engineers.
Support permitting efforts and prepare application materials for local jurisdictions (City of Seattle, King County, other regional agencies).
Collaborate closely with project teams, including senior engineers, designers, and external consultants.
Assist with project documentation — design drawings, technical reports, specifications, and correspondence.
Manage tasks across multiple active projects while maintaining quality and meeting schedule expectations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
2-5 years of relevant experience in civil engineering consulting, preferably in site development.
Strong proficiency in AutoCAD; experience with Civil 3D is strongly preferred.
Experience with stormwater modeling tools such as MGSFlood, WWHM, or similar hydrologic/hydraulic software.
EIT certification required (or ability/willingness to obtain shortly); intent to pursue PE licensure.
Solid understanding of stormwater regulations and permitting requirements for local jurisdictions (City of Seattle, King County, Washington State).
Clear written and verbal communication skills.
Strong problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and ability to work both independently and within a collaborative team.
Valid driver’s license and ability to perform occasional site visits.
